Niall Ferguson & Martin Gurri LIVE
Our first virtual event: a jovial conversation about our collective doom!
Since we two jaded journos started the Uncertain Things podcast back in 2020, we've been inviting on writers, philosophers, journalists, creators, and thinkers and asking them all variations of the same question: Why is everything so frickin' broken?
We've gotten many brilliant responses, but two of our previous guests have stood out for their profound, all-encompassing answers. First up, Niall Ferguson, prolific historian, self-described "classic Scottish enlightenment liberal," and author of The Square and the Tower, The Great Degeneration, and, most recently, Doom: The Politics of Catastrophe. Then, Martin Gurri, a former media analyst for the CIA and author of The Revolt of The Public and the Crisis of Authority in the New Millennium (a.k.a the Uncertain Things bible).
Now — for the first time ever — we're bringing these luminaries of doom (doominaries?) into conversation. On Tuesday March 7 at 2PM ET, we'll cover their differing eschatologies, our mutual catastrophes, and, of course, the doominess of our time.
In order to keep this free event intimate and interactive, we’re capping the conversation to only 35 people. We will open up tickets to the general public on February 15.
If you’re a paid subscriber to Uncertain.substack.com, you’re in luck. From now until February 14, ONLY paid subscribers can sign up for tickets. So if you’re NOT a subscriber, now’s a great time to join.
If you ARE a subscriber, keep reading to access the event and register today.
